Fresh Strawberry Sauce
Strawberry fields sauce
Image of Fresh Strawberry Sauce: a 10-minute microwave recipe provided with nutrition facts for a homemade strawberry sauce.
[Makes 1 1/2 cups]    Cooking time: 10 minutes

11 ounces strawberries, washed, stemmed, and whirled in food processor or mixer until strawberries are pureed
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice

1. Place all the ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl (2 1/2 liter or 2 1/2 quart). Cook without covering the bowl on HIGH (1200W) for 2 minutes.

2. When it reaches a boil, reduce the power to 80%, so that it will not boil over. Cook for 4 minutes or until mixture reduces itself by half.

3. Take out and transfer to a different bowl immediately, to prevent the sauce from continuing to cook from the residual heat. Let it cool until it thickens.

* A wonderful sauce over yogurt!
