Photo of Lasagna with Meat Sauce: a quick microwave pasta recipe provided with nutrition facts for a homemade lasagna
[4 servings: 10 x 6 x 2-inch baking dish]    Cooking time: 50 minutes

3/4 pound lasagna noodles
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
parsley sprigs

< Meat Sauce >
1/2 pound ground beef
2 cups Tomato sauce (homemade or ready made)

< White Sauce >
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons margarine or butter
2 cups low-fat milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

1. Place the ground beef and tomato sauce in a microwave-safe bowl (2 liter or 2 quart). Loosen (aerate) the ground beef with a fork.

2. Cover with a vented microwave lid. Cook on HIGH (1200W) for 8 – 10 minutes or until the sauce starts to boil. Take out and mix well.

3. To make the <White Sauce>, place the flour and margarine in a microwave-safe bowl (2 liter or 2 quart). Cover with a microwave lid and cook on HIGH (1200W) for 40 seconds to 1 minute.

4. Take out and stir, adding the milk gradually. The sauce will start to thicken. Cover with a microwave lid and cook on HIGH (1200W) for 2 minutes. Take out and stir, then cook for 2 more minutes. Take out, add salt and pepper and stir.

5. Cook lasagna noodles according to the directions on the package.
